RECENT RELEASES

Pestilence: MetalSucks says, “On Obsideo, Pestilence get it all right.” The site premiered “stunningly feral new track “Aura Negative” back on October 31 and fans applauded their early listen to the band’s eighth studio album. Terrorizer notes, “Pestilence may have made their best album yet.” And GhostCultMag adds, “24 years after setting the standards for all those to follow, (Patrick) Mameli has shown Pestilence can still live up to their legacy by refusing to imitate it.” The band celebrates the holiday season while gearing up for their expected world tour in 2014. Watch for details via Candlelight’s official sites and follow Pestilence via their official site here. Obsideo is now available worldwide on cd and vinyl formats. Click Europe or USA to purchase.

The Earls of Mars: There is certainly no way to categorize the oddity known as The Earls of Mars. “One look at the track titles of their debut self-titled phantasmagoria of an album will have you simply delighted unless you have no imagination,” says AveNoctum of the Londoners full-length debut. The Sludgelord calls the album, “a delightfully odd, macabre, and ultimately unique experience.” The Bloodstock Open Air alumni are known for their riveting live performances. Footage of the band performing “Cornelius Itchybah” from the Jagermeister stage at this past Festival can be seen here. Follow the band via their official site and pick up the CD in stores worldwide now. Click Europe or USA to purchase..

Ihsahn: Accolades for the former Emperor vocalist and his latest solo effort continue to mount. “On his thrilling new album Das Seelenbrechen,” asserts ProgRock Magazine, “Ihsahn has created an improvised work of art that offers the brave listener an unsettling but ultimately magical experience.” With Year End polls just starting to be released, Ihsahn is already finding his fifth solo album included. “Ihsahn is creating some of the most important and relevant progressive metal,” says Decibel Magazine. Loudwire adds, “one of his most dynamic and fascinating works.” 2014 will be a busy year for the revered vocalist/guitarist with continued solo performances in addition to a handful of dates with Emperor who in the new year celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the original release of In The Nightside Eclipse. Follow Ihsahn via his official site here. Das Seelenbrechen is now available worldwide on cd, a limited edition deluxe digibook (sold out in many locations) and vinyl formats.
